Traders are also looking ahead to the Fed's June 17 meeting, where markets expect no rate change.

Bitcoin stayed near $63,000 after last week's dip below $60,000, while Volmex's 30-day implied volatility index (BVIV) fell to 47% annualized from around 60%. Over the past 24 hours, BTC traded near $63,300 (+0.8%) and ether near $1,691 (+1.8%), with BNB and Solana up roughly 2.3%. The move came even as tech benchmarks jumped overnight, including a 2.5% gain in MSCI's Asia Pacific gauge and a 1.6% rise in the Nasdaq 100.

Bitcoin weakened as a broader risk-off tone took hold, with the U.S. 2-year Treasury yield rising to 4.19% and oil gaining more than 3%. The token fell about 14% last week, briefly traded below $60,000, and was around $62,600 after peaking above $63,600 late Sunday. Renewed Iran-Israel tensions, ETF outflows and upcoming U.S. inflation data were cited as factors keeping volatility elevated.

Bitcoin fell to $62,000, triggering a defensive shift in derivatives as traders sought downside protection. Over the past 24 hours, the June 26 $50,000 strike put became Deribit's most-traded contract, with additional activity in $65,000 and $55,000 puts and the $80,000 call as the lone top-five bullish bet.

Bitcoin slipped under $72,000 after Strategy (MSTR) disclosed a sale of 32 BTC for $2.5 million, its first publicized bitcoin sale in four years. Liquidations jumped as the move unfolded, with CoinGlass showing $93.69 million wiped out in the past hour, while BTC fell from above $74,000 to around $72,250 during the late Asian session.
